KLM cancelled your flight?

Check your personal cancellation message first. An airline-wide announcement does not establish when you were individually notified.

The maintenance story is context

Transport Online reports that KLM is cancelling some flights ahead of time because of aircraft maintenance and damage. The linked report does not substantiate a precise cancellation window or a list of affected services. This site does not publish those as confirmed facts.

A public news report cannot confirm your flight’s status. Use KLM’s own booking and status information. Our checker uses only the cancellation details you enter.

Early notice changes the payment, not every right

If KLM personally notified you at least fourteen days before departure, standard EU261 cancellation compensation is normally not due. For a covered cancellation, the choice between reimbursement and re-routing remains.

If the message came later, the offered alternative and the specific cause become important. Maintenance is not automatically an extraordinary circumstance, but the actual facts and evidence still determine the outcome.

Make the direct request

KLM’s official compensation page links to requests for both standard compensation and unexpected expenses. Keep receipts for reasonable care costs, and separate them from the compensation request. Use the refund option that fits your booking if you no longer wish to travel.

KLM may offer cash and voucher options with different values. Compare conditions carefully: a larger non-refundable voucher is not the same as a cash payment. A claim service is optional and takes a fee if successful.
